About 99kopitiam
We are more than just a betting platform. 99kopitiam is where the Malaysian sports spirit comes alive — where every match means more, and where sports fans from every corner of the country come together.
Every decision we make at 99kopitiam stems from these two core principles.
99kopitiam exists to give every Malaysian sports fan an honest, fair, and enjoyable sports betting experience. We believe that responsible betting can add a new dimension to watching sports — turning an ordinary match into something far more engaging. With transparent odds, a secure platform, and genuine support, we are committed to always being in our members' corner.
99kopitiam's long-term vision is to be the most trusted, most user-friendly, and most locally relevant sports betting and online entertainment platform in Malaysia. This is not just about member numbers or transaction value — it is about building an ecosystem where Malaysian sports fans feel understood, respected, and well looked after. Every improvement we make is a step toward that vision.
Six things that set 99kopitiam apart from other platforms in the Malaysian market.
99kopitiam isn't a foreign platform that's been translated into Malay. We were built from the ground up with a deep understanding of the Malaysian context — local leagues like Liga Super Malaysia, nationally beloved sports like badminton, and the unique culture of Malaysian sports fans. Our interface, customer support and payment methods are all designed specifically for Malaysians.
The security of our members' accounts and funds is our absolute top priority. 99kopitiam uses 256-bit SSL encryption for all transactions, two-factor authentication for logins, and a transparent payment policy with no hidden charges. The odds we display are real, unmanipulated odds — what you see is what you get.
From the EPL and Malaysia Super League to the BWF World Tour, IPL, MPL Malaysia, and 20+ other sports categories — 99kopitiam offers the widest coverage for Malaysian sports fans. Over 1,000 active markets every day across all sports, with in-play betting updated every second for live matches.
Fast, hassle-free deposits and withdrawals via local Malaysian payment methods — DuitNow, Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, FPX, Maybank2u, and CIMB Clicks. Deposits are processed in under 60 seconds and withdrawals are typically completed within 15 minutes. No international banking complications, no currency conversion fees.
99kopitiam's customer support team operates in Malay and is available around the clock via in-platform live chat and WhatsApp. Whether you have questions about how to place a bet, deposit or withdrawal issues, or any technical problems — we respond in under 5 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
99kopitiam takes our social responsibility seriously. Our platform includes betting limits, deposit limits, self-exclusion tools, and links to professional support resources. We believe a healthy business is one that looks after its users' wellbeing — not just short-term profit.
The name "99kopitiam" was not chosen by chance. It draws inspiration from one of the most iconic institutions in everyday Malaysian life — the kopitiam, a coffee shop where people gather, chat, debate last night's match, and celebrate their favourite team's wins together. The kopitiam is where the true spirit of Malaysian sports fans lives — informal, full of heart, and always better when shared. 99kopitiam wanted to bring that spirit into the digital world.
The 99kopitiam journey began in 2018 with a straightforward goal: to build a sports betting platform that truly understood the needs and preferences of Malaysians. At the time, most available betting platforms were foreign-operated, with English-only interfaces, inconvenient payment methods, and customer support that was slow and out of touch with the local context. The 99kopitiam founding team — made up of passionate Malaysian sports fans — saw this clear gap in the market and decided to fill it.
In its early days, 99kopitiam focused exclusively on football betting — specifically Liga Super Malaysia and the EPL, the two leagues followed most closely by Malaysian football fans. The initial response was overwhelmingly positive. Malaysian sports fans appreciated an experience that felt more familiar in terms of language and culture, along with competitive odds and a straightforward deposit process through the local e-wallets that were gaining popularity at the time. Within the first six months, active membership had already exceeded 10,000 — a figure that far surpassed the founding team's initial expectations.
That early success gave confidence to 99kopitiam to progressively broaden the platform's scope. Badminton was added in 2019 — perfect timing, given that the year saw Lee Chong Wei bring his career to a close while a new generation including Lee Zii Jia and Aaron Chia began capturing the world's attention. Cricket followed shortly after, taking into account Malaysia's sizeable cricket fan community, particularly among the Malaysian Indian community. E-sports was introduced in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when most physical sports had ground to a halt but e-sports leagues like MPL Malaysia kept running — a move that proved to be extremely well-judged.
Today, 99kopitiam is a very different platform from what launched in 2018 — but its core values remain unchanged. Over 200,000 active members across Malaysia trust this platform as their go-to destination for sports betting. From Perlis to Sabah, from major cities to small towns, Malaysians are watching their favourite matches and using 99kopitiam to make the experience even more exciting. That is an achievement we are prouder of than any financial figure.
99kopitiam's commitment to local Malaysian payment methods is more than a business strategy — it's a matter of principle. We believe Malaysian users deserve to manage their money through systems they know and trust. DuitNow, Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, FPX Maybank2u and CIMB Clicks — these aren't just options; they're our guarantee that your financial experience at 99kopitiam is smooth, fast and risk-free. Withdrawals processed within 15 minutes isn't an empty promise — it's an operational standard we uphold every single day.
Ultimately, 99kopitiam is a platform that keeps learning and keeps growing. We listen to member feedback, follow developments across the global industry, and are always looking for ways to improve day by day. If you have not yet joined the 99kopitiam community, we invite you to be part of the 200,000+ Malaysians who have made 99kopitiam their trusted companion for watching their favourite sports.
